Alex and Nick

In September of 2016, Alex and Nick were married at Trump Winery on a classically beautiful Charlottesville day. Planned by Beverly Wakefield at A Grand Affair, the day was infused with elegantly rustic details fitting the vineyard style wedding. A soft color palette of pink, coral, mint, green, and cream was accented with touches of gold.

Wearing a traditional lace A-line dress, Alex epitomized the classically beautiful bride. We created a voluminous, round and romantic bouquet of ivory and cream with touches of blush and accents of soft green. Garden roses, hydrangea, dahlias, dusty miller, and variegated pittosporum made a perfect composition. The bouquet was tied in ivory satin with a tasteful gold overlay ribbon and pinned with Pearls. To add a personal touch, we tied a locket of Alex’s into the bouquet ribbon.

Alex’s bridesmaids also wore lace gowns in a blush pink. We created bouquets that were similar in composition to Alex’s, but smaller in scale and with a greater emphasis on the blush and green coloring.

For the groom, we created a boutonniere to reflect the design of the bridal bouquet. A delicate dahlia bud was complemented by seeded eucalyptus and blush astrantia buds. Tied in thin gold ribbon, the boutonniere was also detailed with a gold locket. The groomsmen, wearing rose gold bow ties and tan suits, donned boutonnieres of blush spray roses and dusty miller.

The ceremony took place in the Trump Winery chapel. At the front of the church, we placed a cluster of pillar candles of varying heights on each side. A soft touch of greens was nestled in-between the candles. On the railings, a soft garland of seeded eucalyptus and Italian ruskus was draped to frame the altar. Overall, the design created a light and romantic feel in the light-filled chapel.

The reception in the Grand Ballroom featured a rectangular farm table for the wedding party, draped with a 24 foot garland. The garland was composed of camellia leaf and seeded eucalyptus, with a punch of color provided by blooms of dahlias, hydrangea, and spray roses. The round guest tables had centerpieces of large, vintage lanterns. Each lantern was encircled with a wreath of greens, floral blooms, and foliage.

Elegant and classic, we were so pleased with our designs for Alex and Nick’s wedding. Thank you to all of the vendors who helped make this day so special. We would particularly like to thank Jason Keefer Photography for capturing our work so beautifully. We wish Nick and Alex all the best in their future together!

Lindsey and Steven

Lindsey and Steven were married at Trump Winery on a gorgeous September day. The scenic grounds provided a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, and the vineyard’s barn housed the reception. Simple rustic elegance infused with a romantic feel informed our design. Colors of blue and buttery yellow with accents of ivory, cream, and green were used to reflect the season and the design inspiration.

Lindsey carried a traditional and full bouquet of cream with pops of bright yellow. Yellow calla lilies, cream roses, cream spray roses, and umbrella fern created delicate volume. Touches of blue were added with the addition of tweedia. The bouquet was wrapped in ivory satin ribbon and pinned with pearls.

For the bridesmaids, we created full bouquets similar to Lindsey’s, but brighter in color. Yellow florals were complemented with pops of cream and blue. Yellow calla lilies, pale yellow roses, cream spray roses, blue delphinium, and blue tweedia were arranged and wrapped in navy ribbon to complement the bridesmaids’ dresses.

For the groom, we created a boutonniere with a small yellow calla lily and touch of fern to reflect the composition of the bride’s bouquet.  The groomsmen’s boutonnieres were differentiated with pale yellow roses and fern, wrapped in a thin, navy ribbon.

The ceremony setting was absolutely stunning. Held outside by the willow tree, the ceremony was decorated simply and elegantly. To mark the entrance to the space, we created two low and abundant arrangements to spill over rustic wine barrels. Hydrangea, asparagus fern, ivy, yellow garden roses, blue stock, and yellow and cream dahlias were used to create natural and colorful designs. A carpet of yellow rose petals marked the aisle.

After the outdoor ceremony, the reception moved to the Trump Winery Barn. At the escort card table, we placed a stunning cream arrangement with statement-making lilies and full garden roses to welcome guests.

The color scheme of blue, yellow, and cream was continued for the reception to brighten the rustic setting. Bridesmaids’ bouquets were repurposed for guest table centerpieces. To add more interest and detail, we placed a cloud of blue hydrangea at the base of the glass cylinders, and scattered gold vintage mercury glass votives about the table.

We loved the vibrancy of Lindsey and Steven’s wedding flowers and were so happy to be a part of this lovely couple’s special day! We wish Lindsey and Steven all the best in their future together. Thank you to Trump Winery for the gorgeous scenery and event planning, and Kait Winston Photography for the spectacular images of our work!

Florals in pinks, oranges, and autumnal tones complimented the gorgeous fall vista of the vineyard and the navy blue accents of the bridal party. We created two altar arrangements composed of hydrangeas, lilies, roses, berries, and ferns. Six hobnail vases of dahlias and roses were also hung from chairs as aisle markers.

The bride carried a fulsome bouquet of roses, spray roses, and dahlias in pinks, oranges and caramel colors. She added a personal and sentimental touch to her bouquet by including a special family photo.
