Kim and Jason

Kim and Jason were married on a lovely fall day at the scenic Early Mountain Vineyard. CInda Hoege of White Birch Events planned the gorgeous event, and William Walker Photography captured the day spectacularly. The day way infused with rustic elegance, and the floral design was greatly unique in its vibrant and varying colors.

The stunning bride carried a classic and deconstructed bouquet with base colors of cream, ivory, and green. Green hydrangea, ivory garden roses and spray roses, cream lisianthus, camellia leaf, seeded eucalyptus, and fern were accented with pops of color. Touches of red gomphrena, orange Asclepius, and purple lavender added an unexpected twist to the classic bouquet.

The groom wore a navy suit with a subtle purple tie. To complement his attire and the wedding’ a color scheme, we designed a boutonniere consisting of a peach dahlia bud, dusty miller, blush astrantia, and lavender. It was tied in an ivory ribbon to match the bridal bouquet.

The ceremony took place on the grounds of Early Mountaine, overlooking the expansive and beautifully landscaped grounds. To frame the entrance to the ceremony, we designed two arrangements of green, cream, and orange. Each was placed atop vineyard wine barrels. Each arrangement consisted of PeeGee hydrangea, polo roses, orange dahlias, and safflower with greens of camellia, silver dollar eucalyptus, and seeded eucalyptus. The altar arbor was wrapped in only greens of eucalyptus, salal, magnolia, and camellia in order to create a charming backdrop to the ceremony.

The reception was held in the Event Hall of Early Mountain. The focal point of the room was the grand fireplace. We repurposed the ceremony arrangements to frame the fireplace and draped the mantle with greenery and green hydrangea. Two farm tables placed in the center of the room were Guests were seated at farm tables seating 10 guest in each table. A mix of long rectangular and square cement containers: 2 square and one long rectangular on each table with PeeGee hydrangea, roses, dahlias, astrantia, queen ann’s lace, lavender(the herb), dusty miller, eucalyptus and jasmine. each table with 7 glass votives. The cost of the containers for the 2 farm tables is $38.00. With the flowers the total is $338.00 ($150 per arrangement) Greens to be styled on tables in between arrangements $20.00 in total (8) 72″ Round tables to have a cement gray and white cylinder container per table. Same flowers as above plus 5 glass votives for table. The cost of 8 containers is $64. With the flowers the total is $1,024.00 ($120 per arrangement) greens to be styled on tables in between arrangements $70.00 in total Vintage Wooden Drawer Boxes: (2) Arrangements similar to guest tables. ($120.00 per arrangement) $240.00 in total Lavender Sprigs: (80) Cut lavender sprigs for napkin details $145.00 in total 2 fireplace mantels: greens comprised of seeded eucalyptus, salal leaves, magnolia leaves to be arranged on 2 mantels with venue lanterns $60.00 in total

Floralscapes 2016

We very much enjoyed designing table arrangements for Caspari‘s Floralscapes event this year, celebrating Historic Garden Week. Our arrangements were made to complement the ‘Culiko’ design, which features succulents and cacti. Bright and exotic florals were arranged in teal oxidized metal containers. ‘Free Spirit’ and ‘Wimbledon’ roses were mixed with poppy pods, protea, and staghorn fern. Equisetum added height and a unique detail to the grouping. View the beautiful tablescape below!

Madison and Scott


In October of this past year, we had the honor of working with Madison and Scott to add vibrant florals and exquisite decor to their autumnal nuptials. The two were married at St. Paul’s Memorial Church near the University of Virginia Corner, and their reception was held in the gorgeous Verulam Farm‘s Cider Barn. The event was photographed by the talented Jen Fariello Photography. Classic and vintage elements combined with loose, “from the garden” florals to create a feeling of southern elegance with rustic charm.


Rain came on the wedding day, but it did not dampen the spirits of the bride and her wedding party. All smiles, Madison and her bridesmaids posed for pictures in their fall-colored Hunter boots and patterned umbrellas.


The bride’s bouquet was romantic and natural. Cream and white garden roses, dahlias, freesia, and hydrangea served as the base. Colors of plum, peach, mint, and orange were integrated with the addition of ranunculus, garden roses, silver brunia berries, and dusty miller. The bouquet was tied with a cream satin ribbon and pinned with a line of seed pearls.


The intimate ceremony was touching and full of laughter. The adorable flower girls, crowned with twisting stems of heather, wax flower, and spray roses, prefaced the joy and excitement of the ceremony as they walked down the aisle. The altar was framed by two arrangements in classic urns. Hydrangea, white roses, and delphinium added color and delicacy, while magnolia branches and fern added texture and volume.


For the reception, tables were designed to reflect the charm of the Verulam Cider Barn. A vintage collection of vessels and gold mercury votives were scattered down the length of the long farm tables. Loose and elegant arrangements of hydrangea, ferns, roses, astrantia and other elements in colors of oranges, peaches, and creams were arranged in wooden boxes. Some of the tables also had a garland runner of salal and seeded eucalyptus, interspersed with hydrangea to add color.



The most interesting and unique element of the reception was the hanging wagon wheel chandelier. We embellished the wheel with grapevine, seeded eucalyptus, moss, and hydrangea and hung tear drop votive candles to add interest. It was a beautiful and charming accessory to the dance floor!


Madison and Scott’s wedding was full of happiness and joy. The bride exuded radiance on the dreary day, and the couple’s love warmed all who attended. It was a wonderful experience for us to be a part of such an eventful day. All of our best to Madison and Scott!

Grace and Chris

Grace and Chris were married this past October on a glorious autumn day. The wedding took place in the Grand Hall of Trump Winery, and was planned by the talented Cinda Hoege of White Birch Events.

Florals in pinks, oranges, and autumnal tones complimented the gorgeous fall vista of the vineyard and the navy blue accents of the bridal party. We created two altar arrangements composed of hydrangeas, lilies, roses, berries, and ferns. Six hobnail vases of dahlias and roses were also hung from chairs as aisle markers.

 The bride carried a fulsome bouquet of roses, spray roses, and dahlias in pinks, oranges and caramel colors. She added a personal and sentimental touch to her bouquet by including a special family photo.
