Lindsay and Johnny

In early May, we had the pleasure of working with Lindsay and Johnny from Chicago. Their wedding was at Keswick Hall, the photographer was Jen Fariello and all of the wedding details were perfectly executed.

Lindsay was looking for a sophisticated, elegant mix with a soft and fulsome romantic feel. Her colors were spearmint with coral accents, creams, soft pinks and shades of cool green. The table flowers were in an eclectic mix of vintage silver bowls and containers collected by Tourterelle over the years. Mercury candlelight completed the look.

The bridal bouquet was creams, peaches, corals and mint accents. “Juliet” and “Patience” roses, “Ilse” spray rose, White/cream peonies, “Coral Charm” peonies, sweet pea, white freesia, white ranunculus, lisianthus, and white astrantia with scented geranium and dusty miller. Tied in a ivory satin ribbon  pinned with pearls.

Thank you to Jen Fariello Photography for the images.

Jill and Pete

Jill and Pete – April 11, 2015

Jill and Pete were married just a couple of weeks ago with a beautiful spring ceremony at Trump Winery. The wedding had a mix of vintage and unique details that characterized the bride’s beautiful and fun personality.

The wedding was a family affair. We used the bride’s grandfather’s collection of glassware to create centerpieces for the reception tables.

We also worked with the bride’s aunt, a floral designer in New Jersey, to create a sentimental and special bouquet of tweedia, white majolica roses, tulips, astrantia, and dusty miller.

We were so pleased that we could work with Jill to compose her dream wedding! Thank you to Hayes & Fisk Photography for the images, to Jamie Lynn Signature Weddings, and to all of the other vendors.

Floralscapes

To celebrate Historic Garden Week, Caspari invited local floral designers to create arrangements inspired by their chic paper products. The “Floralscapes” event was a great success, and we enjoyed showing our work to the community.

We created our centerpiece to complement the Caspari Garden Images pattern of gold, green, white, and deep purple. Magnolia leaf, bamboo stalks, orchid sprays, and cherry blossom branches were used to compose the dramatic designs.

A Charlottesville Wedding Gift: Ande & Jeff

We are so pleased that we could be a part of the 2015 Charlottesville Wedding Gift! The bride and groom, Ande and Jeff, received the opportunity to have the wedding of their dreams, curated by the best in the Charlottesville wedding industry.

The March 14th wedding took place at Early Mountain Vineyards and started off a bit rainy, but the day brought clearer skies and joy all around.

We worked with Southern Blooms by Pat’s Floral Designs to provide florals for the occasion. We have featured some of our reception florals here on the blog.

Thank you to Jack Looney Photography for the photographs and for including us in this wonderful event. Also, a big thank you to the other photographers involved, Rachel May Photography and Dominique Attaway Photography.

just a little ditty… planned the event. Palette & Pen created the floral mantelpiece, and Rock Paper Scissors printed the menus and table cards.

Abbey and Byron

Abbey and Byron – January 4, 2015

Abbey and Byron’s wedding had a vintage flair; accented by silvers, reds, and pearls. The beautiful bride carried a bouquet of merlot and burgundy calla lilies, orchids, and garden roses. Ivory and white florals were used for the bridesmaids’ bouquets and the groomsmen’s boutonnieres.

So glad that we could be a part of this beautiful wedding!

Thank you to Lauren D. Rogers Photography for the beautiful images.

A Vintage Affair

This weekend we provided florals for a small, intimate wedding at the Clifton Inn. The wedding and reception were 1920s inspired, with the bride wearing a flapper-style dress and sporting finger waves. The vintage affair incorporated gold, champagne, and coral flowers to create an air of art deco.

Bohemian Florals

Earlier this February, we collaborated with other Charlottesville vendors to style this fabulous bridal shoot at Montfair Resort. If you are looking for a departure from the traditional bouquet for your wedding, this organic and natural look is a great option. The bouquet includes a variety of unique florals, such as white lilac, russet and majolica roses, acacia, and astrantia. We even added some blackberries and scabiosa pods to add some whimsy to the wintry design.

Thank you so much to Lindsey Zovko Photography for these beautiful photographs, and the gorgeous scenery of Montfair Resort Farm.
